Background

Bensa is a woreda located in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia. It is bordered South and North by the Oromia Region, and  the major town Bensa is Daye.

Bensa is 450 km from the capital city, roughly 8 hours.

The variety was named by Jimma Agriculture research center (JARC) and introduced to Ethiopia in 1974 as a movement to test and select coffee trees that have good disease resistance for farmers to grow. The number signifies 74 years that the coffee seeds were collected, and varietal 158.

Soil Type - clay loam

Drying method – drying under sun, the coffee beans are placed on African bed wood from 120cm height with plastic net with 3-5 cm thickness and air circulation above and below ladies are stirring within 20-30 min difference for uniform drying, then after 10-14 days we started checking moisture.
